Future Farmer Program

Launched in 2021, the Future Farmer Program supports aspiring farmers by reducing financial barriers to agricultural education and creating meaningful, hands-on learning opportunities on WWOOF host farms.

Since launching, the program has continued to grow and deepen its impact:

124 participants supported

74% BIPOC participation

16,000 hours spent on farms

$305,130 awarded in funding

Beyond these numbers, the program is cultivating a growing network of beginning farmers: people building knowledge, confidence, and lasting relationships that extend far beyond a single season.

"WWOOFing was a transformative experience that changed the trajectory of my career. What began as a learning opportunity grew into something deeper. That foundation continues to guide how I show up for our community today."

The Future of WWOOF

A vibrant farm scene with crops and barns under a clear blue sky in Alto, Michigan.

As we celebrate 25 years of WWOOF in the United States, we’re also planting seeds for the future.

For 25 years, WWOOF has connected people in the US to farms, food, land, and community through hands-on learning and cultural exchange. With your support, we can continue to grow this movement for the next 25 years and beyond.

You can help by sharing WWOOF with friends, family, farmers, travelers, educators, and changemakers. Every new host, WWOOFer, and supporter strengthens our community.

We’re also dreaming big and making regenerative farming experiences accessible to more people:
